At least I now know why I never felt compelled to read it before. Here’s what’s inside in a nutshell: It requires a lot of time for self-reflection but it is worth it. I would love to know if there is a website or blog somewhere that collects all the “success stories” that grew out of this book. A good way to read this is not propped up by pillows in your comfy bed but upright in a chair, at a desk, with pen and blank notebook at the ready. Suddenly the unachievable seems quite do-able and if you follow all the advice you will find great motivation to jump in and start taking first steps.

Trust the process, you will gain a lot of clarity from this chapter. That woman ended up in a very different lifestyle — she moved to Oregon to live in a log cabin by a creek which she used to canoe to town for supplies. This human, practical program puts your vague yearnings and dreams to work for you–with concrete results. Sher’s straight-forward language and encouragement with her emphasis on divergent thinking was far more worthwhile.
If you feel barbraa or unhappy and don’t wiscraft why – chances are you should read this bit. Her tone is pragmatic and compassionate, and reminds me that if I don’t take myself so seriously, creativity often follows. The book is well written and thoughtful. It’s not brilliant prose, but it doesn’t set out to be.
